the ball-head

As I was preparing a download and weekend ahead, I was thinking that I’d like to offer some more of the process in a type of stream of consciousness.

The ball-head or ballhead as it tends to appear in my file listings was a very interesting piece for me to make. The mirror ball is placed firmly on the body of a female warrior figure. Of course, it was all real, I saw the mirror and i saw the “warrior” on a Halloween, when I took the picture, and at that point I’d also seen warriors on my own.

The mirror ball was such a nice shorthand for reflection. Fleeting or not the dance floor can be a place where bodies move in unison and that movement is an amalgam of subtle influences. When the vibe is right, the frequencies, the planned and the chaos, all manifest something in a form of play an action we do everyday, which is we move together. Of course we move in homes and in towns and on continents. We move in nations and markets. In a way we all dance, and in a very real way, we reflect…one another.

The mirror shape turned inside out reminds me of the idea of reflection and in some ways it reminds me of the wireless web. The wireless web, of course, reminds of the web of planets, systems, diversities and incredible spectrums of communication that is beyond our comprehension. In this way, I made up this piece which was meant to welcome DJ Chloe [Kill the DJ] from Paris, in order to explore that sense of overwhelming geometric wonder. Some call it fractals. Anyway, the graphic never made it into the Ruby Gold Series. Maybe someday. Enjoy, it’s available for your use under creative commons and is suitable for invitations to mind-blowing events such as birthdays and beautiful get-togethers with people you love. Reflecting a beautiful afternoon here in New York. Peace. Thanks for riding the stream with me!
