Animating the Archive

Lynn Herman Leeson’s new film and project maps her pre-digital work with an ever open experience of her work online. Cyberspace, what is it and how are we moving there? This is something everyone is trying to answer. Life to the Second Power, is a nice introduction to her, of course the new film !Women, Art, Revolution is a sincerely human 84 minutes of personal journey. There are many women’s voices that are heard. The film, at its core emphasizes the human aspect of women and in this sense should be a funny pleasure for all. In fact, the gentleman next to me said it was a really nice film. He also said the Cedar had really good lunches. Also, for anyone wanting to experience or add to the discussion of archives go visit NYU Archive Workshops, Working the Archive: Process to Product, the Spring 2011 program is open to the public! I’m very proud to have helped on some design here. Please also consider supporting @Pantheonnyc which is part of movement towards documenting the pre-digital history of graffiti and New York City streets.
