Rainbow Thunder

@PantheonNYC is about to launch! The Press Reception and Opening Party are this Saturday, April 2nd. If you want to witness graffiti history in the making I suggest you come on over. My essay, The Ache of The Real: Streets, Cyberspace and Alternative Vision, is published in the Pantheon Exhibition Catalogue. I’m really thankful to the Curators Joyce Manalo and Daniel Feral for their patience with my writing and the time it took. As for the roster of artists they have showing, well, come, join us and see the old and new school meet for a journey from the 70s up to the present. Reserve a space for either event by contacting, rsvp@pantheonnyc.com.

As for the Rainbow Thunder title, well, we’re about to start an informal tea party. No, it’s not a political tea party. It’s a chance to meet, in parks on rooftops, wherever we find ourselves, to exchange ideas and connections. It’s a tea party for evolution, is what it is. Find me this Friday April 1st for an informal fund-raiser in Bushwick, Brooklyn. They call it Save the Schoolhouse but I call it just plain fun and good people. Painter Justin Steimer, known for being part of the chef crew at Stone Home Wine Bar and Restaurant, will be cooking up BBQ for everyone. Shadi Megallaa, the man who inspired Blk|Market Membership’s Taimur to be a DJ is going to lay down some funky house sounds and in the corner, I will be making, sharing and laughing about tea and sundry other rainbow items. I know some of you think high art foments in Manhattan…um, that’s only partly right. Yes, endure the hipsters, endure the train and come on out. I will have chalk and we will use it to draw our ideas and hopes for a rainbow colored evolution, that means: inclusive. tolerant. compassionate. and multi-generational. Come. Ask for Ruby.
