About

Mariette Papic is a photographer and writer who expands memoir through an ongoing series of conversations of conscious and subconscious experience. Her work focuses on currents in technology, myth and language.

Her artwork explores the fine and connecting lines between conscious decision and the influence of symbols. Her installations explore materials and surfaces in both analogue and digital spaces; reworking her inner experience of our modern world. Mariette’s first book of poetry, Electric Bathtub Psalms, has been released in a Limited Edition Artist’s Book and chapbook by Laughing Mouse Press. Her next book, also for Laughing Mouse, Living Liminal: The Art of Rotate NYC is scheduled to be released in Spring 2012.

Brooklyn based, Mariette currently lives a semi-nomadic, cyber life while working on her projects, including her next book of poetry, Letters for Flying and the Dreams and Conversations Tour.
